Going on a walk with the Maestro!

We are finally down to the 75th Birth Anniversary of legendary music director Rahul Dev Burman aka PanchamDa. It goes without saying that he is a revolutionary music director, who changed the tonality and pitch of popular music scenario in his times. It has been two decades since his death
but RDB has reigning hearts since forever. It's a very special day for the music-lovers like me!

I decided to make a list of his best 75 compositions. But when I was starting to do this, I couldn't able. I made a list which contains 136compositions; finally I've sorted 75 compositions out of them . I like all the songs. It's really difficult to make it in order!

আর বাকি মাত্র একশো ◆

একটি বিখ্যাত news channel-এর আজকের Top News হল "পুজোর আর মাত্র একশো দিন বাকি!"

যদিও দুর্গা পুজো নিয়ে আমি কোনোদিনই খুব একটা excited নই। কারণ, ছোটোবেলা থেকে দুর্গাপুজো কোনোদিনই আমার ভালো কাটেনি। তাও পুজো আসছে ভাবলেই একটা অন্য রকমের অনুভূতি জাগে।তবে সেটা পুজো সংক্রান্ত নয়।সেটা হল পুজোর বেড়ানো। প্রতি বছরেই দিন পনেরর জন্য বেড়াতে যাই। আর সেইজন্যই আজ থেকে আমারও দিন গোনা শুরু হয়ে গেলো। এবারের পুজোর ছুটির গন্তব্য "কাশ্মীর"!

Siliguri Called ........

Siliguri is a city in Darjeeling district in the northern part of West Bengal, India.
With a population of over half a million, Siliguri is the third largest city in West Bengal. As one of the most important transportation hubs in the north east, Siliguri has recently become something of a boom town. Sprawling
and boisterous, modern condominiums dominate the landscape on entering the town, followed by endless streets of market stalls that surround a core of up-scale shops and shopping malls. Due
to its position as a shopping and business hub and its high concentration of colleges and institutes of learning, the city enjoys a sophistication and range of shopping found in metro cities. It is the only city in West Bengal,
other than Kolkata, to have a commercial airport. Siliguri is gateway to Darjeeling.

The closest major international airport is at Kolkata, approx 570km south of Siliguri. The Bagdogra Airport is just 14km from the heart of Siliguri.

Moving in and around Siliguri is cheap. Cycle-rickshaws, auto-rickshaws, buses, taxis are easily available in almost every part of the city. Cycle-rickshaws can be hired to move around
within the radius of 1-2 km. The fares are pretty nominal. To go about 5-10 km, one can hire/share auto-rickshaws. You just need to flag down one and when you leave you pay a fixed amount. Cars can be hired from several
agencies.

"Made in China" are being sold here. Keep in
mind that the actual price of the item will be
1/2 or 1/3rd of the price the shopkeeper asks.
